Nashville Floods

Just updates for those of you who enjoyed our city last summer and are familiar with places: The Opryland Hotel, Opryhouse, and Opry Mills are all flooded with several feet of water. The water pumping station in that part of town is also underwater, so pretty serious. Our convention hotel high on the hill is fine, however, the roads getting to it and the MetroCenter/Titans training camp facility is flooded. Downtown, the Cumberland River is at 53 feet now and has not yet crested; currently water is up to around 3rd Avenue (the places some of you "explored" are on 2nd avenue; The Symphony hall basement is flooded and water is up to the Country Music Hall of Fame, but no damage there yet. Downtown Franklin which some of you toured was also hit pretty hard. Schools are out for a 2nd "flood day" tomorrow. Nashville has several schools that were flooded and electricity is off for some segments of the city (compounded by the fact that some of Nash. Electric Service stations and equipment are underwater, so they can't help people). I'm on the "upside" of a hill, but 2 blocks from me is Old Hickory Lake and it flooded several homes on that end. We're going to make it, but it'll take some time to get back to normal! Keep us in your thoughts and prayers!
